Abstract
Quantum technologies, driven by the principles of quantum mechanics, are poised to revolutionize various fields, particularly electrical engineering. The foundational concepts of quantum mechanics—superposition, entanglement, and quantum tunneling—enable unprecedented advancements in computation, communication, and sensing. This paper explores the potential applications of quantum technologies in electrical engineering, focusing on quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum sensing. It also delves into the significant challenges that must be overcome to realize the full potential of these technologies, including technical obstacles, scalability issues, and the high costs associated with development and infrastructure. As quantum technologies progress from experimental phases to practical implementation, they promise to transform electrical engineering by offering enhanced computational power, secure communication channels, and highly sensitive measurement instruments.
