Abstract
Hypertension, a leading risk factor for morbidity and mortality worldwide, is often exacerbated by stress and tension. Traditional treatments focus on managing symptoms rather than addressing root causes. Yoga Nidra, a state of deep relaxation and altered consciousness, has shown promise to reduce hypertension by inducing mental, physical, and emotional relaxation. This paper aimed to study the impact of Yoga Nidra on systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate in working women aged 35-40 years suffering from essential hypertension. Over 20 days, participants practiced Yoga Nidra for 30 minutes daily. The results demonstrated significant reductions in all measured parameters, indicating that Yoga Nidra can be a potent non-pharmacological intervention for managing hypertension. The findings suggest incorporating Yoga Nidra into regular practice can help alleviate hypertension-related symptoms and improve overall well-being.
