Abstract

The landscape of higher education has been rapidly evolving, particularly in the field of business administration. Traditional on-campus MBA programs have long been the gold standard for developing future business leaders, but in recent years, there has been a significant shift towards online and hybrid MBA programs. These programs blend the flexibility of online learning with the benefits of in-person interactions, providing a more dynamic and accessible learning experience. The rise of these programs is largely driven by technological advancements, changing student demographics, and the increasing demand for flexible learning options in a fast-paced, globalized world. Online and hybrid MBA programs have made business education more accessible to working professionals, international students, and individuals who may not have the time or resources to attend traditional, on-campus programs. Additionally, these programs provide access to a wider range of learning resources, foster collaboration across borders, and introduce innovative teaching methods. However, they also present challenges, including issues related to student engagement, technological infrastructure, and the perceived value of a degree earned in this format. This chapter explores the rise of online and hybrid MBA programs, examining their evolution, benefits, challenges, and implications for the future of business education.
