Abstract
As the world’s workforce changes at a rapid pace due to digitalization, automation, artificial intelligence and changing expectations of employees, organizational strategies in talent management have markedly shifted. This research paper aims to discuss strategic talent management as a facilitator towards the future of work by highlighting the concept of workforce agility, skills development, employee retention and organizational performance. A conceptual and analytical approach has been used for the study in which the secondary data is gathered from academic literature, industry reports, and global workforce studies to analyse the emerging practices in talent management. The results show that enterprises are moving toward adopting a strategic approach to talent management that focuses on ongoing learning, digital skills and analysis-based decision making around talent planning. An organisation that employs proactive talent strategies, such as reskilling and upskilling programmes, flexible work arrangements and AI-powered recruitment systems exhibits greater employee engagement and competitive advantage. But there are issues to consider, such as working with a workforce that is more remote and hybrid than ever before and the need to fill job gaps in key industries. The study also reveals that employee experience, leadership development and organizational culture are key enablers that future ready organizations value when it comes to sustaining talent. Moreover, strategic talent management is shown to be critical in making the gap between the existing employee talents and the new roles created by technological disruption. Policy implications indicate the need for increased cooperation among educational institutions, governments and industries for a continuous supply of skilled work force. The research adds to existing scholarship about human resource innovation by providing evidence of the strategic role of talent management for organizational future work resilience. The results offer actionable advice for HR professionals, HR managers, and business leaders looking to create adaptable, skilled, and future-proof workforces. The study also indicates that it is essential for organisations to constantly fine-tune their talent management and develop strategies to compete in a changing job market. So, long-term workforce sustainability will rely upon the ability of organizations to successfully combine technology, human resource development, and strategic planning.
