Abstract
The post-pandemic period has seen a rapid shift in how workplaces are organized, with hybrid work models gaining widespread acceptance, especially in the IT sector. These models blend remote and in-office working, providing both flexibility and efficiency, while simultaneously posing challenges around employee well-being, communication, stress, and job performance. This research investigates how employee mental health relates to workplace performance in hybrid work settings, focusing specifically on Chennai’s IT industry. Primary data was gathered from 150 IT professionals using structured questionnaires. The data was analyzed using various statistical methods including percentage analysis, mean scores, correlation, regression, ANOVA, Chi-square, and factor analysis. Results show that mental health has a meaningful impact on how well employees perform at work. Key factors such as maintaining a healthy work-life balance, receiving organizational support, communicating effectively, and managing stress were found to significantly influence employee productivity and engagement in hybrid environments. The study recommends that companies place greater emphasis on employee well-being through mental health programs, adaptable work policies, and a nurturing organizational culture to drive better performance outcomes.
