Abstract

The teachers’ perspective about using artificial intelligence and the professed assistances and challenges of teachers using AI for teaching English is the main study of this paper.  Studies specify that AI contributes significantly to the development of language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, writing,  vocabulary acquisition, and grammar learning.  There are only few researches to investigate teachers’ perceptions on AI in ELT teaching.  A non-probability convenience-based sampling practice has been used in this study, and a sample of 20 teachers of English language have been utilized to collect the data. 5 teachers from the government colleges were chosen to conduct this study.  Interviews and survey questionnaire are used to get quantitative data.  This study emphasises that teachers consider artificial intelligence suitable and advantageous for use in ELT.  Employing this artificial intelligence technology in teaching English can be increased by fixing the complications that the teachers and learners face while using it.
