Abstract:

After watching the advertisement of an application software for earning money by playing on it featuring Sachin Tendulkar and an advertisement of an application software for investment AI featuring Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy, the possible threat of misleading inspired this research paper. Both these public figures seem to be promoting the application software in such a convincing way that any follower of them will be assured of the genuineness of those application software. After repeatedly going through, because of curiosity, of the advertisements and looking keenly into the lip movements and the body language of the celebrities, it was found that those visual presentations were doctored. The videos were created with the help of an AI tool making it close to reality. These instances were found fake after the technical enquiry only. But if anyone without having such enquiry, believes such videos as reality, the viewer of it may fall prey to and get victimised to such fakes resulting him the loss of revenue or resources. Some other instances of the face swapping of an Indian actress with an internet celebrity exhibiting a vulgarity and politicians doctored videos were witnessed by us in recent past. After seeing all such visuals, one may get entrapped and have some feelings or conclusions which will be wrong and misleading. All this is increasing in number creating a misinformed audience.
