Abstract

This study investigates the factors contributing to the successful implementation of e-filing in Chhattisgarh, India, which was introduced in the assessment year 2006-2007. E-Filing offers a convenient and efficient method for submitting tax returns and other documents electronically. The research focuses on four key factors believed to be instrumental for successful e-filing adoption: cost-effectiveness, user-friendly portal design, system reliability, and time savings. The study explores how cost-effectiveness, achieved by eliminating physical paperwork and associated costs, incentivizes e-filing usage. It examines the significance of a user-friendly portal that simplifies navigation and minimizes technical barriers for users. Furthermore, the research emphasizes the importance of a faultless system that ensures data accuracy and minimizes errors. Finally, the study analyzes how e-filing saves time compared to traditional paper-based filing methods. By investigating these factors, the study aims to identify the strengths of Chhattisgarh’s e-filing system and areas for potential improvement. The findings can contribute to enhancing e-filing adoption rates and promoting a more efficient tax administration system in the state.
