Abstract
The pervasive issue of internet addiction has sparked significant concern in society as it can have debilitating effects on the physical and mental wellbeing of college students (Zhang et al., 2018). Likewise internet addiction has negative impact on interpersonal relationship as there is decrease in social interaction with real people (Douglas et al., 2008) due to more internet usage. Also Internet addicted has been found to be an important factor that affects interpersonal relationship (Ryu et al., 2018; Marzilli et al., 2020). Thus this study aimed at exploring the relationship between internet addiction and interpersonal relationship among college students. For this purpose, a total sample of 80 subjects (40 males & 40 females) was drawn from Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib. Internet addiction test (IAT), Callaghan Interpersonal relationship questionnaire were used for the study. Correlation analysis was computed to arrive at the results. The results highlighted the interesting trends in relation to internet addiction and interpersonal relationship among college students.
