Abstract

Postcolonial themes have significantly shaped modern English literature, offering critical insights into identity, cultural hybridity, resistance, and the legacy of colonial rule. This study explores how postcolonial discourse manifests in contemporary English literary works, analyzing texts from different regions formerly under colonial influence. By comparing literary representations from South Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, the research highlights the shared struggles of decolonization, identity reconstruction, and cultural conflict. The study also examines the role of language, historical memory, and indigenous narratives in reshaping the literary canon. Through a comparative analysis, the paper underscores how modern English literature continues to challenge Eurocentric perspectives and provides a voice to formerly marginalized communities. The findings contribute to a broader understanding of the evolving dynamics of postcolonial literature in a globalized world.
