Abstract

Remote work has significantly transformed workplace structures, driven by technological progress and shifting professional expectations. While this flexible work arrangement has gained traction, concerns about its effects on productivity persist. This study delves into the link between remote work and employee efficiency, shedding light on factors contributing to decreased productivity, such as heightened distractions, absence of direct supervision, challenges in communication, and reduced collaboration. Despite the benefits of remote work, including greater autonomy and improved work-life balance, its effectiveness is largely determined by employee self-management, organizational policies, and the complexity of tasks undertaken. Furthermore, this paper discusses strategies businesses can employ to mitigate productivity obstacles and ensure optimal performance in remote work setups.
