Abstract
The use of SHRM as a strategic management tool assists organisations in achieving a competitive edge in today’s global economy through their human resources. Companies in the IT industry face many international challenges related to the global marketplace, such as finding and keeping the best talent, managing diversity among their employees, utilizing technology, and having employees move all over the world. From a global viewpoint, SHRM should be integrated into the overall objectives of the organisation (the organisation) so that productivity, creativity, and sustainability can improve. The purpose of the current research was to explore how successful global SHRM is related to the effective functioning of the organisation and employee job performance in the IT industry. The following issues will be examined in the research: global talent management; employee engagement; cross-cultural training; effective leadership development; technology-based solutions; and managing employees’ work/life balance. The research design selected for the current study was descriptive and included data collection via standardized questionnaires from employees employed at IT companies identified as part of the research study population. A total of 178 employees completed the questionnaires. A convenience sampling approach was utilized to select participants, with the data undergoing analysis through various statistical methods including percentage analysis, independent sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) practices significantly influence employee satisfaction, employer commitment, and productivity within IT companies. Additionally, the research identifies Global Leadership Development, Technological Competency, and Employee Engagement as primary factors driving Organisational Performance (OP). Notable variances in responses were observed based on age, gender, job designation, and experience levels. Correlation analysis highlighted a robust positive relationship between SHRM and OP, while multiple regression analysis indicated that Leadership Development and Employee Engagement serve as the strongest predictors of OP. The study concludes that IT organisations should adopt globally-oriented SHRM strategies to enhance employee motivation, foster innovation, and ensure long-term sustainability in the sector. Companies effectively implementing strategic HR practices can gain a competitive edge in the global market.
