Abstract

The introduction of the Ministry of Education through the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 marked a transformative phase in the Indian education system. NEP 2020 aims to shift education from rote learning and examination-centric practices toward holistic, skill-oriented, and learner-centered education. One of the central educational philosophies embedded within the policy is Outcome-Based Education (OBE), which focuses on clearly defined learning outcomes, competency development, and continuous improvement in teaching-learning processes. OBE ensures that students acquire the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary for personal growth, employability, and national development. NEP 2020 strongly aligns with the principles of OBE by emphasizing multidisciplinary learning, critical thinking, experiential education, flexibility, and competency-based assessment.
