Abstract
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the Internet of Things (IoT) has resulted in the emergence of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), a transformative approach for developing intelligent, connected, and autonomous systems. AIoT combines the sensing, communication, and connectivity capabilities of IoT with AI-based learning, prediction, and decision-making techniques. This integration enables connected devices to process large volumes of real-time data, identify patterns, predict events, and support automated decision-making with reduced human intervention. AIoT applications are increasingly being adopted in smart cities, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, energy management, and consumer services. The study examines the role of AIoT in building intelligent connected systems and explores its major technologies, applications, benefits, and challenges. Particular attention is given to edge computing, machine learning, deep learning, cloud platforms, sensor networks, and real-time analytics as key components of AIoT architectures. The findings indicate that AIoT can improve operational efficiency, predictive capabilities, resource utilization, automation, and service quality. However, challenges related to data privacy, cybersecurity, interoperability, computational requirements, scalability, and ethical decision-making remain significant. Effective AIoT implementation therefore requires secure architectures, reliable connectivity, responsible AI practices, and continuous technological development. AIoT represents an important foundation for next-generation intelligent systems in which connected devices can perceive, learn, communicate, and act autonomously.
