Abstract

The capacity to identify, comprehend, and control one’s own emotions as well as those of oneself and others is what we mean when we talk about emotional intelligence, or EI. Emotional intelligence, as defined by experts, is the quality of being able to regulate and control one’s own emotions and those of others. High-EQ individuals are in tune with their feelings, understand the significance of those feelings, and are aware of the impact those feelings might have on others around them. Leaders can’t be effective without high levels of emotional intelligence.
