Abstract

Digital transformation has become a strategic imperative for the hotel industry as organizations respond to evolving guest expectations, intensified competition, and rapid technological advancements. This study examines how technology-driven initiatives reshape hotel operations and influence service performance outcomes. Drawing on evidence from contemporary industry practices and empirical insights reported in recent hospitality research, the paper analyzes the adoption of digital tools such as property management systems, customer relationship management platforms, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and contactless service technologies. The findings indicate that digital transformation enhances operational efficiency, service consistency, and decision-making accuracy while enabling more personalized guest experiences. At the same time, the study highlights critical challenges, including high implementation costs, employee skill gaps, data security concerns, and resistance to organizational change. The paper emphasizes the mediating role of employee readiness and organizational culture in translating digital investments into measurable service performance improvements. Overall, the study contributes to hospitality management literature by offering an evidence-based understanding of how digital transformation initiatives can be strategically aligned with service objectives to achieve sustainable competitive advantage in hotel operations.
