Abstract
In the context of globalization, the interrelationship between ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and sustainability has become increasingly central to international business strategy. This chapter explores how multinational enterprises (MNEs) respond to global expectations around ethical behavior, social accountability, and environmental stewardship. It examines the ethical dilemmas faced by businesses operating across culturally diverse and economically unequal regions, and analyzes how CSR initiatives can both address social concerns and enhance corporate image. The role of sustainability—especially in managing long-term environmental and resource concerns—is explored as a key driver of business resilience and stakeholder trust. Using real-world examples, the chapter highlights frameworks, challenges, and emerging best practices that help companies align their global operations with ethical standards and sustainable development goals (SDGs). The findings underscore that ethical and sustainable international business practices are not just moral imperatives but strategic necessities in today’s interconnected world.
