Abstract

A paradigm shift is taking place in education as a result of the flipped classroom model, which turns the traditional model of teaching on its head. The innovative approach takes learning outside of the traditional classroom setting and introduces students to new concepts via media such as films, books, or online modules. Simultaneously, class time is reserved for activities that involve them and help them solve difficulties. This chapter’s goal is to delve into the ways in which flipped learning practices may encourage active learning, deeper understanding, and increased student participation. This chapter’s goal is to show, via an examination of several flipped classroom models, how the flipped classroom model promotes student engagement and individualisation of instruction. It also gives a general outline of the reasons for using flipped classrooms and the benefits and outcomes that may be expected from this approach.
