Abstract

Event management has evolved into a complex and multidisciplinary domain requiring the strategic integration of planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and risk preparedness to ensure successful outcomes. While event proposal development provides the structural foundation for event planning and execution, crisis management enhances organizational resilience against uncertainties and disruptions. However, existing literature has largely examined these dimensions independently, resulting in fragmented theoretical understanding and limited practical integration. This conceptual paper aims to develop an integrated framework linking event proposal development and crisis management to event success. Drawing upon an extensive review of classical and recent studies published between 2020 and 2026, and grounded in Systems Theory, Resource-Based View (RBV), and Contingency Theory, the study proposes a resilience-oriented conceptual model incorporating mediating and moderating variables. The paper conceptualizes risk preparedness as a mediating construct linking strategic planning and crisis management capabilities with successful event outcomes. Environmental uncertainty and technological adoption are proposed as moderating variables influencing the strength of these relationships. The framework suggests that the integration of structured proposal development and crisis preparedness significantly enhances operational efficiency, stakeholder satisfaction, organizational resilience, and event performance. The study contributes to event management literature by offering a holistic framework that bridges planning and crisis preparedness within a single conceptual model. The paper also provides actionable insights for event practitioners, policymakers, and managers seeking to strengthen event resilience in increasingly uncertain environments. Future research is encouraged to empirically validate the framework across diverse event contexts using advanced analytical approaches.
