Abstract
Sustainable development has emerged as one of the most important global priorities of the 21st century. The concept focuses on balancing economic growth, environmental protection, and social welfare to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology play a crucial role in addressing sustainability challenges through scientific innovation, technological advancement, and environmental management. Physics contributes through renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, climate modeling, and advanced materials. Chemistry supports sustainable development through green chemistry, waste management, water purification, and eco-friendly industrial processes. Biology contributes through biodiversity conservation, biotechnology, agriculture, healthcare, and ecosystem restoration. This chapter explores the interdisciplinary role of these sciences in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting current advancements, challenges, and future prospects.
